Faith and Doubt
Reading from Pope Francis Reflection
Sharing In so far as participants are at ease, spend a brief time in sharing now, either as 1:1 or in groups Scripture John 20:24-27
Now Thomas, (also known as Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. So, the other disciples told him: ‘we have seen the Lord’ But he said to them, ‘Unless I see the nail marks, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.’ We pray Creator and creating God, we recognise that faith is a personal journey for each of us. Likewise, we recognise that our faith influences the way we see the world and the way we lead our lives. Through our doubts and uncertainties, may we more fully understand the harmony between faith and reason. Help us to grow in our faith so that we may participate more fully in Christ’s transforming presence in the world. Stay with us on our journey. Amen. |
